Richard Martin

Richard_Martin.jpgI’ve lived in the Pontypridd constituency for most of my life and in Pontypridd town for just over a decade, where my family & I have put down roots.

I’m standing for election in 2017 because I think the Graig and Pontypridd deserve better from our council. Delivering essential services in face of austerity from a Labour Government in Cardiff and Tories in London is more difficult now than ever and we only seem to see investments and announcements in election year.

I believe councillors should be working in our communities every year - speaking with constituents, listening and responding to them. It is the strength of our communities that help us get through difficult financial times and councillors have an important role to play in that.

It sometimes feels like our current council speak with residents only when they have to – which is simply not good enough
