Deiseb Meddygfa Ynysybwl Surgery Petition

Keep our surgery open

bwl_surgery.PNG

We, who have signed this petition, call on Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board to keep the Ynysybwl branch of Taff Vale Practice open.

Closure would have a huge impact on patients, who are already struggling to secure appointments.

Many patients do not own cars and can currently walk to the Ynysybwl branch. The lack of adequate bus services already results in patients missing vital GP and hospital appointments elsewhere.

For older patients, or those who may be less mobile, going by bus to Glyncoch, Rhydyfelin or Dewi Sant involves catching two buses. This will only lead to more missed appointments or people choosing not to seek treatment.

Please listen to our views, and keep the Ynysybwl branch open.

Rydym ni, sydd wedi llofnodi’r ddeiseb hon, yn galw ar Fwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Cwm Taf Morgannwg i gadw cangen Ynysybwl o Feddygfa Cwm Taf ar agor.

Byddai cau yn cael effaith enfawr ar gleifion, sydd eisoes yn ei chael yn anodd sicrhau apwyntiadau.

Nid yw llawer o gleifion yn berchen ar geir a gallant gerdded i gangen Ynysybwl ar hyn o bryd. Mae diffyg gwasanaethau bws digonol eisoes yn golygu bod cleifion yn colli apwyntiadau hanfodol gyda meddygon teulu ac ysbytai mewn mannau eraill.

Ar gyfer cleifion hŷn, neu’r rhai sydd efallai’n llai symudol, mae mynd ar fws i Glyncoch, Rhydyfelin neu Dewi Sant yn golygu dal dau fws. Bydd hyn ond yn arwain at golli mwy o apwyntiadau neu bobl yn dewis peidio cael triniaeth.

Plîs gwrandewch arnom, a chadwch gangen Ynysybwl ar agor

What happened to caring for those in economically deprived areas like Ynysybwl? What about the elderly who don’t drive? Do they matter to the authorities at all?

Being OAP and unable to drive it is very difficult to attend the surgery other than ynysybwl as it is proving more difficult to get an appointment with the doctor.

I have family in Ynysybwl who will be adversely affected by closure of this local facility.

Very disappointed to hear the surgery is closing when it has been such a part of the local community. There are many elderly people within the Ynysybwl area who rely on this surgery who may not have the means to travel to Pontypridd to use the surgery there.

When I haven’t been able to get an appointment at The surgery in Pontypridd I have been seen in Ynysybwl. Surely if they close this surgery the impact on the health system will be huge. Eg. Longer waiting times for appointments, more work for the GP’s who are already at full capacity, less emergency appointments which are so needed.

I agree the Ynysybwl surgery is old and dated, however it is vital for the growing community within the area

The surgery in the village is vital to so many. It must stay and re-open as soon as possible. Public transport is expensive, unreliable and no matter what alternative surgery an appointment is given at, it means two buses and hours on the road. Not acceptable.

I have mobility problems as have many others in Ynysybwl and Coed Y Cwm area would find that travelling to the other surgeries for appointments would possibly make them unable to get to. Dewi Sant the parking is impossible to find a space. I know the Sardis Rd car park is close but means a hill to negotiate. Why was the Bridge St surgery closed, it was convenient for most people to access so by closing the Ynysybwl surgery makes no sense at all as it is on a bus route and parking is easy. Please campaign vigorously to keep it open

It’s imperative that the surgery stays open for access for everyone in the local community who have for years supported and used the practice. The notion of closing the surgery is another obvious example of the mis management of Taff Vale Practice and shows no regard for its patients. Patients should not be punished for the lack of business organisation and retention of staff.
