It was with sadness and shock that we learnt of the passing of the Plaid Cymru County Councillor for Ynysybwl, Tony Burnell.
Tony was a huge character and very active in his home community of Ynysybwl, serving as the County Councillor and Community Councillor.
A former pupil of Pontypridd Boys Grammar School he will be missed by so many.
Member of the Senedd for South Wales Central, Heledd Fychan said:
"Devastating news from Ynysybwl tonight with the passing of Councillor Tony Burnell.Always full of love for his community and committed to doing the best for everyone, it was no wonder that he and Amanda were elected as RCT Councillors in May of this year, as well as retaining their positions as community councillors.
My thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. His warm smile and big heart will be missed by many."
